East Cobb Park, one of the areas newest amenities, was established through a public/private partnership. Kim Paris, past president of the East Cobb Park Committee, notes that her organization purchased 13.3 acres of land and Cobb County Government provided matching funds and purchased seven acres to the west. The new community park contains a walking trail, several picnic pavilions, restrooms, an outdoor classroom, a stage and a playground. The park opened in 2003 and the East Cobb Park Committee continues to raise money for enhancements such as additional lighting and extending walking trails.
